    Preparation to Working in Adult Social Care Courses

    The qualification enables a learner to get knowledge on various basic areas of being employed in adult social care. The certificate in Preparation to Working in Adult Social Care is part of the apprenticeship framework of social and health care.

    The qualification is for everybody that is interested in starting a career in England’s adult social care.

    Safety and health

    Handling information

    Approaches that are person centered

    Duty of care

    Safeguarding

    Learning can take place from a college with a trainer or at the workplace. The assessment will be by assignments that are externally marked and also externally set.

    Level Two

    This is for those that are starting an adult social care career and want to gain and develop the skills that are relevant.

    Level Three

    Those that want to develop their existing skills on adult social care and the responsibilities and roles of working there.

    THE CAREERS THAT THIS CAN LEAD TO

    The qualification gives a pathway into the adult social care sector for various individuals, be it school leavers or the individuals that are going back to work after a break.

    THE INVOLVEMENTS OF THE COURSE DELIVERY

    The trainers need assessors that are qualified to assess the course. They can be trained staff members or those recruited specifically.

    There will be need for suitable resources and facilities for training and attainment of industry requirements by learners.

    This is open for anybody but there must be enough resources for all learners that are required to complete the course.

    Level Two

    This is for those that are starting an adult social care career and want to gain and develop the skills that are relevant.

    The qualification has the following core units:

    Understanding the social care worker role

    Understanding the safety and health in settings of social care

    Understanding the person-centered technique in settings of adult social care

    THE CAREERS THAT THIS CAN LEAD TO

    The qualification gives a pathway into the adult social care sector for various individuals, be it school leavers or the individuals that are going back to work after a break or those that are searching for work in this sector.

    CERTIFICATE IN PREPARATION TO WORKING IN ADULT SOCIAL CARE LEVEL TWO

    Level Three

    At least one pathway in the qualification has received approval from the DfE to be in the performance tables of 2016. The approved qualifications can be approved at the website.

    This level is appropriate for those that are working in the settings of adult social care and have the basic concepts and skills in this area and want to build their knowledge and learning.

    The level three has nine compulsory units which include:

    Safeguarding principles and protection in social and health care

    Understanding the techniques of handling information in setting of social care

    Principles of inclusion, equality and diversity in settings of adult social care

    THE CAREERS THAT THIS CAN LEAD TO

    The qualification gives pathways to the adult social care sector for several individuals including those that are fresh from school, those that are going back to work from holiday breaks and those that want to work in this sector.
