Language, Communication and Speech for Children Courses
The qualification helps learners to know the pattern of non-typical and typical development in communication in young people and children and be able to support effective development of communication for all the children.
The award is built for those learner that are practicing to be teaching assistants and the support staff in various settings of childcare and the candidates that are working in social care, play work, health, youth work and youth justice settings. The learners may also be working in the voluntary sector.
THE INVOLVEMENTS OF STUDYING THE COURSE
This award will enable a learner to:
Know the significance of communication
Understand the pattern of development of communication
Support the development of communication in children
Recognize the development of typical communication
Recognize the development of non-typical communication
Recognize and support the language, communication and speech needs of young people and children.
Know the link between different impairments and social deprivation and also the difficulties in behavior.
Learning will take place from the working environment
Assessment will be conducted in the workplace and will involve evidence portfolio to meet the standard of the qualification.
Level Three
Level three is for those that are working with young people and children in various settings and have got knowledge and skills.

The qualification gives opportunities for learning in special areas for those that are working in various roles in social and health care, youth, play work and children settings.
THE INVOLVEMENTS OF COURSE DELIVERY
The trainers need assessors that are qualified to assess the course. They can be trained staff members or those recruited specifically.
There will be need for suitable resources and facilities for training and attainment of industry requirements by learners.
This is open for anybody but there must be enough resources for all learners that are required to complete the course.
Level Three
Level three is for those that are working with young people and children in various settings and have got knowledge and skills.
There are two core units and other several optional units. Learners should achieve a total of nine credits, six from the core units and three from the optional units.
Core Units
Support language, communication and speech development
Support the young people and children’s language, communication and speech skills.
Optional Units
Support language, communication and speech development for the kids that are learning several languages
Support practice that is positive for the young people and children’s language, communication and speech needs
