The aim of this course is to prepare a learner for a career as a beauty massage therapist. This qualification is for those whose age is 16 years and over, and it will support them in gaining employment as beauty massage therapist. This is because it contains the units that covers the skills and knowledge that are needed for this role. One can enter into this qualification through successful skills test and interview or via previous attainment of a level 2 qualification beauty therapy.
This is a vocational qualification, and the elements required for working effectively as a beauty massage therapist with inclusion of mandatory units that cover body massage, pre-blended aromatherapy, client care, stone therapy, Indian head massage, stone therapy and health and safety are included in this qualification.
One will need:
English standard that is of good standard for allowing for study and competence of the online assessment.
For one to apply for this course, one should be 19 or over.

In the whole course of this qualification, one will develop his/her knowledge and understanding of anatomy and physiology that is relevant, health and safety, caring for the client, and massage medium products. One will develop technical skills that will enable him/her to provide a relaxing massage treatments through different techniques. One will also gain and develop interpersonal skills that will help one in engaging in effective communication with clients.
Duration and delivery.
Students will need 17 weeks to complete these course, but it will be 2.5 days a week meaning it is a part-time learning.
Assessments are both theory and practical where theory exam is done through online platform while the practical one is practical based assessment.
Further study and career options.
This qualification will make one ready for employment as a beauty massage therapist. One will also be eligible in joining a professional association and also gain insurance as therapist in beauty massage.
After completing this course, one can become:
A worker in a commercial beauty salon, day spas and destination spas.
A self-employed professional with a home based settings.
This is one among the two VTCT qualifications in beauty massage therapy at level 3. Both qualifications make one become a beauty massage therapist. However, this qualification allows one to gather evidence in a working environment that is realistic or working environment that is real with no need for fee paying clients.
Every student will need to have an x2 folder, a clip board, a kit and he/she will need to purchase a uniform.
