The qualification is built to enable learners have the knowledge and skills required to care for other people in several social and health care settings.
A social and health care diploma is suitable for every field which deals with health care and social care. A learner can choose which pathway is suitable for their role for instance working with individuals that have learning disabilities, young people, young children or people with dementia.
It is the core qualification that is needed by the Wales Care Council and the England Care Commission.
They are the qualifications that are recognized for senior workers and care workers n social and health care.
To complete this qualification at level three, one must be having a role in the care setting. For the level two one, one does not have to have previous experience or one might just be working in the care setting and wish to be recognized in the current knowledge and skills the units that are mandatory for the certificate in care and Diploma level two can be found at the handbook of qualifications at the center section.

To get the qualification, learner needs to show specific skills set. The learner will work together with a training provider who will review the currents skills and get the suitable ways to acquire new ones by studying or just trying new things.
The qualifications will be assessed at the place of wok or at a workplace that is simulated. For every unit, the assessor will ask questions and watch as the learner does tasks or will just review the work portfolio that will be developed as an evidence of learning. They will then be able to confirm that the learner has got the skills needed to perform the job.
Level Two
This is ideal for those that are care workers and want to land their first jobs. For those that are working in care already and work mainly when supervised and wants to take more responsibilities and increase their skills.

Level Three
This is suitable for care workers that have got some responsibilities at the workplace and work with no supervision and want to build and be able to demonstrate their skills to become senior care workers or any other senior roles.

Senior Care assistants/workers, support workers/key workers
Senior Support workers/healthcare assistant
The two qualifications can also be appropriate for any type of individual that is emerging in the health roles and crossing the traditional delivery models and barriers.

THE INVOLVEMENTS OF THE COURSE DELIVERY
The qualification can be offered from a college or the workplace. Assessments are conducted in the workplace. The qualification in level three must be based on working a social or health care setting.
To offer the diploma, there should be a qualified staff member or one that is recruited specifically to do the assessment and training.
The provider also has to ensure the learners can assess a workplace setting to learn from.

Level Two

Introduction to health communication and social care in the settings of children and young people
Personal development introduction in social and healthcare for the settings of young people and children
Introduction to inclusion and equity in social and health care in the settings of children and young people
Principles of protection and safeguarding in social care and health care
Handling of information in social care and health care
Introduction to care duty in social and health care in the settings of young people and children
For those leaning in Wales, they will complete another core unit:

Level Three
At least one pathway within the qualification has got approval from the DFE to be in the performance tables of 2016. For one to review the approved qualification, check the official website.
This is suitable for care workers that have got some responsibilities at the workplace and work with no supervision and want to build and be able to demonstrate their skills to become senior care workers or any other senior roles.
There are two ways that one can select from at this level:
Adult Social and Health Care Diploma
Young People and Children Social and Health Care Diploma
The adult option completes nine other units and the young people and children option completes fourteen core units whereby among them are the following:

Promoting inclusion and equality in social care and health care in the settings of young people and children
