    Social and Health Care Leadership and Young People and Children’s Services

    This qualification give a learner a chance to show that he or she has the skills which are required to provide care  and keep a company of care provision operating smoothly with a diploma in Social and Health Care Leadership and Young People and Children’s Services.

    The course enables a learner to have an opportunity to build the care skills and managerial skills which enables the learner to help other people. It is also fulfillment of the requirements for those that want to be managers of adult residential, domiciliary services and homes of children.

    The course is for the individuals that are working in the social and health care already. It can be suitable for the assistant managers or deputy managers that have not acquired the vocational qualification.

    THE INVOLVEMENTS OF STUDYING THE COURSE

    Individual needs assessment

    Review and planning of care programs

    Tendering and procurement

    Effective governance

    Risk management

    The learning takes place from the workplace or training center.

    The assessment is done at work. For every unit, the assessor will ask questions and watch as the learner does tasks or will just review the work portfolio that will be developed as an evidence of learning. They will then be able to confirm that the learner has got the skills needed to perform the job.

    Level Five

    Level five is for those who are responsible managing a facility which offers services for children that are vulnerable and adults. It can also be appropriate for the assistant managers or deputy managers that have not acquired the vocational qualification.

    To become a manager at the children home, domiciliary services or adult residential, one has to have the qualification.

    NVQ Level Four in Guidance and Advice

    NVQ Level Four in Managing Residential Childcare

    Higher Professional Diploma Level Four in Learning disability Inspection Services

    Higher Professional Diploma Level Four in Well Being and Health

    Certificate Level Four in Working with Abuse of Substances

    THE INVOLVEMENTS OF THE COURSE DELIVERY

    For one to qualify to deliver the course, he or she needs qualified staff for assessment and training.

    There will be need for suitable resources and facilities for training and attainment of industry requirements by learners.

    This is open for anybody but there must be enough resources for all learners that are required to complete the course.

    The diploma in Social and Health Care Leadership and Young People and Children’s Services can be delivered at the workplace or a learning center. Assessment is also conducted in the place of work and will include evidence portfolio in most units. The knowledge units can either be assessed in the workplace or out of the workplace.

    Those that can acquire automatic approval include:

    NVQ level four in social and health care for children, adults and young people

    NVQ level four in management and leadership for the care services

    Level Five

    Young people and children management of their residential (Wales or England)

    Young people and children’s management (Wales or England)

    Adult’s management (Wales or England or Northern Ireland)

    Advanced practice of adults (Wales or England or Northern Ireland)

    All this pathways have five common units:

    Development and use of techniques that promote communication

    Promotion of professional development

    Champion diversity, inclusivity and equality

    Develop safety, health and risk policies of management, practices and procedures in social and health care for setting of young people and children

    Working while partnering with social and health care, young people and children’s settings
