Catering and Hospitality Courses – Level Two
The qualifications here are employer approved. They cover a ground including various areas of hospitality including housekeeping, front office, cookery, food and beverage and other hospitality services which lead to opportunities of employment.
The NVQs can be obtained by anyone that is progressing to level two from one or in employment full-time or those that can start a qualification at the second level.
INVOLVEMENTS OF THE COURSE:
To obtain an NVQ, a learner needs to demonstrate certain special skills. The training provider reviews the skills a learner possess currently and get the most suitable way to acquire new ones for example by studying or doing new things.
The NVQs get assessed at a simulated job place or work. For every unit, the assessor asks questions and watches as the learner does the task and looks at the work portfolio which the learner has built as learning evidence. Afterwards, the assessor will confirm that the learner has got the skills required.
For the Hospitality and Catering NVQs, you will learn from the training provider and evidence from the work place.
Level Two
This is for those that are employed full-time or are progressing from the first level or starting at level two. A learner may want to take the course full-time or as a part-time student.
WHAT THIS CAREER LEADS TO
After obtaining the NVQ, the learner will be able to show customer and employers that he or she has skills for jobs like bartender, waiter or waitress, chef and hotel receptionist.
INVOLVEMENTS OF THE COURSE DELIVERY
To qualify to deliver the qualification, there should be qualified assessors. They can be recruited specially or trained from the staff members.
For the qualification of NVQ, learners require an appropriate environment where they can show their skills. The NVQ learners can also undertake it at a local college.
Those that are working in the catering and hospitality industry or any new individuals in the industry can take the qualification.
Level Two
This is for those that are employed full-time or are progressing from the first level or starting at level two
The learner can choose from the following fourteen qualifications as per the area of specialization in hospitality:
A learner must obtain between thirty seven and forty total credits to obtain the full qualification. This has a combination of compulsory units that is nine to eleven units and the others are optional divided into three groups A, B and C.
