The qualification will assist you to get the first job in the industry of hospitality. You are going to learn about various industry aspects and gain teamwork and practical skills.  The qualification will cover routes including food service and cookery and other areas in the industry.

The qualification can be taken by anybody who has an interest in joining the hospitality industry. This is aimed at individual between 14 and 19 years that are working to obtain level two qualifications and be skilled in employment. This qualification can also benefit the learners that are struggling in the level one professional cookery diploma.

INVOLVEMENTS OF STUDYING THE COURSE

• Healthy eating
• Customer service
• Using equipment in the kitchen
• Serving drinks and food
• Food preparation basics

The qualification makes the learner flexible during study such that he or she can transfer credits within the qualifications. Credit will be awarded after completion of each course.

Level Three Entry

For those that are searching for a career in the industry of hospitality or those that want to learn the how to look after themselves in their environment or those with special needs.

Level One

This is for those that are beginners and want a concept of the industry of hospitality. This is for those that are still students or those that are preparing for an apprenticeship program or GCSEs. There are those that want a qualification which can help them to get their first job or assist with ongoing study.

For one to qualify to deliver the course, he or she needs qualified staff for assessment and training.

There will be need for suitable resources and facilities for training and attainment of industry requirements by learners.

This is open for anybody but there must be enough resources for all learners that are required to complete the course.

Entry 3

For those that are searching for a career in the industry of hospitality or those that want to learn the how to look after themselves in their environment or those with special needs. This is for those that have no or little experience in the industry but want to get their career started.

There are two compulsory units and several optional ones.

The Hospitality Introduction Award can help a person find employment in several roles including:

• Receptionist

After completing the course, one can move to other level one qualification such as the pre-apprenticeship.
